Chicago, IL (July 28, 2023) – On Tuesday night in Uptown Chicago, a woman was struck and killed by a driver as she crossed the street, according to officers with the Chicago Police Department.
Per the latest reports released on Friday by authorities, the collision happened in the 5100 block of North Broadway at around 10:35 p.m. The victim, a 69-year-old woman, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she eventually passed away.
Police are still looking for the driver involved. They say the suspect fled the scene shortly after they struck the victim. Officers say the suspect vehicle is likely a black Honda with possible front-end damage. Witnesses last saw the driver traveling north from Broadway and West Winona Street after the crash.
The Chicago Police Major Accident Investigation Unit is requesting that anyone with information about the accident get in touch with them.
