Pedestrian Collisions in New York

Personal injury lawsuits involving pedestrian accidents are founded on the legal idea of negligence. In other words, in order for a pedestrian to be entitled to financial compensation for their injuries, they will be required to prove that the driver was the cause of their injuries due to the fact that they acted in such a way as to violate their duty of care.

Some examples of negligent driving that are commonly seen in New York include:

  • Drunk driving
  • Speeding
  • Distracted driving
  • Illegal lane changes and other maneuvers
  • Failing to yield

When New York drivers behave recklessly or carelessly, they are accountable for the injuries and damages they cause. A skilled New York personal injury attorney can help you effectively prove liability for your pedestrian accident.

Being injured in an auto-pedestrian accident can be an extremely disruptive, frightening, confusing, and overwhelming time in a person’s life. After being hurt in a pedestrian collision that was not your fault, the last things you need to be concerned with are the financial obligations and other stressors that only make physical recovery more challenging.
