Chillicothe, OH (December 16, 2024) – The Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious two-vehicle crash that occurred early Monday morning on Eastern Avenue near Stauffer Lane in Scioto Township. The collision took place at approximately 4:34 a.m. and resulted in serious injuries to both drivers involved.
According to the initial investigation, a 2003 Honda Element, driven by 23-year-old Harley Maynard of Chillicothe, was traveling northwest on Eastern Avenue when it crossed the centerline. The vehicle collided head-on with a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche traveling southeast, driven by 36-year-old Adam Clark, also of Chillicothe.
Maynard was transported to Adena Regional Medical Center by Scioto Township EMS for treatment of serious injuries. Clark sustained serious injuries as well and was taken to Grant Medical Center by Huntington Township EMS for further care.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was supported at the scene by the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Scioto Township Fire and EMS, Huntington Township Fire and EMS, Veteran Affairs Fire and EMS, and Chillicothe Fire and EMS. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
