Clay County, KS (December 9, 2024) – Two Kansas women tragically lost their lives in a crash on Sunday evening on Kansas Highway 15 (K-15) in Clay County. The collision occurred around 5:30 p.m. when a Chevy Malibu, traveling southbound, crossed the center line and struck the driver’s side of a Chevy Impala.
The drivers of both vehicles were identified as 56-year-old Deanna L. Hess of Clay Center and 53-year-old Lisa L. Stevenson of Salina. Both women were killed in the crash. A 13-year-old passenger in Stevenson’s Chevy Impala was seriously injured and was transported to Salina Regional Health Center for medical treatment.
The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash. The tragic incident has left the community mourning the loss of two lives, and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims.
