Cleburne County, AL (September 20, 2023) – A crash occurred shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Cleburne County 531 near Cleburne County 500 on Monday, September 18, 2023.
Walter L. Lindsey Jr., 63, a passenger, died when the 1998 Jeep Cherokee veered off the road, hit an embankment, and overturned.
Lindsey, unbuckled during the crash, was ejected and declared dead at the scene.
The Jeep’s driver, a 36-year-old woman, also unbelted, sustained injuries.
She was taken to Regional Medical Center in Anniston for care.
Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are actively investigating the crash.
