Cloverdale, CA (July 13, 2023) – A fiery wrong-way crash near Cloverdale claimed at least one life and injured another on Thursday night, July 13, 2023.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a car travelling southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 101 collided with another vehicle near Canyon Road around 9:44 p.m.
The impact caused one of the cars to catch fire, trapping two individuals inside.
Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene.
Tragically, one of the trapped victims succumbed to their injuries.
Another person suffered serious injuries.
Although no further details were provided, an ongoing investigation aims to shed light on the circumstances leading to the crash.
