What Factors Are Often Examined After a Rollover Crash?
Rollover crashes can happen for several reasons, especially on highways where vehicles travel at higher speeds. Investigators often review road conditions, weather, vehicle movement, and whether the vehicle left the roadway before overturning. Tire marks, damage patterns, and nearby objects struck during the crash may also help explain how the accident unfolded.
Vehicle type can also affect rollover risks. SUVs, trucks, and vans generally have a higher center of gravity, which may increase the chance of overturning during sudden steering movements or when a vehicle leaves the pavement.
In crashes involving serious injuries or fatalities, emergency response timelines and occupant seating positions are commonly documented as part of the overall review. Medical findings may later help clarify the severity of injuries connected to the collision.
