Cobb County, GA (May 5, 2022) – A 1-year-old girl has lost her life two days after she and her mother were struck by two vehicles crossing a street in Cobb County. Authorities confirmed the toddler died at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta on Tuesday, May 2. 

The mother was identified as Kayanne K.L. Dunn, a 37-year-old Hiram resident. She was traveling on C.H. James Parkway when her vehicle struck the rear of another car at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 1. 

Dunn got out of her vehicle with her daughter and attempted to cross the street near Oglesby Road. Authorities stated the drivers of a Ford Taurus and a Chevrolet Blazer struck them. 

She and her daughter were rushed to Cobb Hospital where Dunn lost her life. Her daughter died two days later. 

Authorities continue to investigate the details of the incident.
