College Point, NY (June 05, 2021) – On Friday, June 4th, a hit-and-run driver struck a teenager on a roadway in Queens. 

Police were dispatched to the intersection of College Point Boulevard and 18th Avenue in the College Point neighborhood at about 9:30 p.m. when a 2009 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on College Point Boulevard suddenly crossed over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic, causing a southbound car to swerve into the northbound lanes. 

The Camry then hit a 16-year-old boy who was in the crosswalk, police said. He was transported to a local hospital with serious head trauma. He is listed in critical condition.   

The driver then fled the scene. The vehicle was later located on 15th Avenue with its windscreen smashed in.
