Colonial Heights, VA (May 16, 2023) – Two children and one adult were left injured as a result of the fire that took place in Colonial Heights. Emergency crews were called to the scene of the incident at approximately 3:50 p.m. on May 15.
According to officials, a fire broke out at a residential structure located in the 1100 block of Covington Road. Firefighters arrived at the scene and located heavy fire in the staircase of the two-story structure.
Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately 30 minutes before declaring it under control.
Firefighters entered the building and located three children with their grandmother. Two of the children and the grandmother were all injured. The victims were rushed to VCU Trauma Center, where they were admitted in critical condition.
This time, the incident is being investigated.
