Columbus, NY (December 5, 2022) – On Monday morning, December 5th, one person reportedly died following a collision with a tractor-trailer in the town of Columbus. It happened at the intersection of New York State Route 8 and County Route 25 at around 10:58 a.m.
Authorities say that a tractor-trailer and a van were heading south when the truck made a turn at the intersection, and the van subsequently collided with the truck. The force of the crash caused a passenger in the van, identified as a woman from Rome, to suffer severe injuries. She was pronounced deceased by responding paramedics.
Neither the driver of the van nor the driver of the truck sustained any injuries in the crash. Few other details are available.
