Columbus, OH (March 17, 2025) – One person was killed, and another was injured in a head-on collision Sunday night in the Minerva Park neighborhood.
According to Columbus Police, the crash occurred at approximately 10:18 p.m. when 30-year-old Melany Devore, of Grove City, was driving a Hyundai Elantra southbound on Cleveland Ave near the Minerva Ave intersection. For reasons still under investigation, the Hyundai crossed into the northbound lanes, colliding head-on with a Honda Odyssey.
Emergency responders transported both drivers to OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital. The Honda driver suffered minor injuries, while Devore succumbed to her injuries at the hospital at 11:05 p.m.
Authorities with the Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
