Columbus, OH (September 18, 2023) – An early Monday collision, September 18, 2023, involving a wrong-way driver on I-70 westbound near James Road, left one dead and five injured.
The devastating crash occurred shortly before 2 a.m. and involved multiple vehicles, though the exact number remains unclear.
One individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
Four others sustained injuries but are expected to recover.
In the wake of the crash, authorities have shut down I-70 westbound from the I-270/I-70 split, extending past the I-70/US-33 split.
Commuters should use Refugee Road/State Route 104 westbound as an alternative route.
