Columbus, OH (October 20, 2024) – A vehicle collision occurred early Sunday morning, October 20, at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Blendon Woods Boulevard, resulting in injuries to three individuals, including a Columbus police officer. Emergency responders were called to the scene shortly after the incident, which took place just after 1:30 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, officers were in the process of moving a disabled vehicle from the intersection when a car traveling south on Cleveland Avenue collided head-on with the stationary vehicle. One officer was inside the disabled vehicle, while another officer was stationed in a cruiser nearby.
The officer who was inside the disabled vehicle was transported to St. Ann's Hospital for medical evaluation. Meanwhile, the driver and one passenger from the car that struck the disabled vehicle were taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital.
