Colusa, CA (July 22, 2023) – On Thursday, July 20, 2023, a tragic head-on collision between a motorcycle and a van occurred near Schaad Road in Colusa County.
The accident occurred around 4:37 p.m., as reported by California Highway Patrol.
A 24-year-old man from Seattle, Washington, riding a 2012 BMW motorcycle, lost his life, while five others in the Honda Odyssey van suffered injuries.
According to news reports, there is uncertainty about the sequence of events leading to the collision.
The van driver allegedly moved into the westbound lane to pass another motorist, while another report suggested the motorcyclist veered into the van’s path.
The injured individuals include two women (aged 75 and 53), a 54-year-old man, and two children (a 4-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy), all taken to local hospitals.
