Comanche, OK (September 19, 2023) – Hay bales obstructing Highway 81 caused a collision at 8:13 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2023 near E 1800 Road.

The road blockade was reported at 8:13 p.m., with both lanes blocked due to the bales.

Gage Hayes, 33, driving a 2019 GMC Sierra, remained uninjured.

Dan Skeens, 58, tried removing a hay bale when Hayes’ GMC hit the bale, injuring Skeens.

Skeens was rushed to Duncan Regional Hospital with leg injuries.

His passenger, Tina Skeens, 57, stayed unharmed.

Multiple agencies assisted OHP on the scene.

The investigation is still ongoing.
