Constantine Township, MI (May 24, 2025) – A tragic crash occurred on Friday, May 23, just after 5:30 PM on U.S. 131 near N River Drive in Constantine Township, St. Joseph County. The crash involved a car and a semi-truck, resulting in the deaths of two individuals from Elkhart.
Police reports indicate that the car was traveling east on River Road and failed to stop at the intersection of U.S. 131, pulling directly in front of a semi-truck. The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man from Elkhart, and his passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Elkhart, both tragically died at the scene. Their identities have not yet been released. The semi-truck, driven by a 40-year-old man from Walker, Michigan, was not injured in the crash.
