Contra Costa, CA (September 19, 2023) – A collision was reported at 3:32 a.m. on SR-24 East, just west of Saint Stephens Dr, on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.
Upon CHP’s arrival, a gray Toyota Avalon was found on the right-hand shoulder.
A mother stated she was hit by another vehicle, suggesting a potential felony hit-and-run.
Her car’s horn was stuck, and hazard lights were active.
The mother, after exiting the vehicle, lay on the ground injured.
Her 2-year-old son also sustained injuries in the crash.
An ambulance was dispatched to assist the injured parties.
The investigation is still ongoing.
