Conyers, GA (March 13, 2023) – Four persons were hurt in a collision involving an ambulance that was its route to a call early on Thursday afternoon, Conyers Police confirmed.
At about 12:15 p.m., a driver struck the EMS unit while paramedics were responding to a call with lights and sirens on Highway 138, near Dogwood Drive, according to the police. This caused the ambulance to flip over.
Four patients were taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Officials added that whether the wounded were in the EMS unit or the second vehicle involved in the collision is still unknown.
The identities and conditions of those hurt have not been made public by the police. In the meantime, authorities have confirmed that the Georgia State Patrol is looking into the collision.
