Cooper County, MO (March 12, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on MO-5 left one woman injured Tuesday afternoon. The collision occurred at approximately 4:39 p.m. at the intersection of MO-5 and Hawk Hill Ln.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by a 40-year-old woman from Sedalia, MO, was traveling southbound when it crossed the centerline. The vehicle sideswiped an unidentified northbound vehicle, which fled the scene before authorities arrived. The Chrysler then collided with a northbound 2016 Hino tow truck, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Emergency responders, including Cooper County EMS and the Cooper County Sheriff’s Department, arrived at the scene. The driver of the Chrysler sustained moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital for treatment. The 23-year-old driver of the tow truck, from Versailles, MO, was reportedly uninjured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Nash Towing and Whans Towing, respectively.
Authorities are continuing their investigation and are searching for the third vehicle involved, which left the scene after the initial impact.
