Carwford, MO (July 12, 2023) – On Monday afternoon, July 10, 2023, two teenagers were injured in a car accident on eastbound I-44 in Crawford County.
Ethan Volkman, 19, of Rolla, was driving a 2015 Chevy Traverse when he attempted to merge ahead of Samuel Osseck, 32, of Union, driving a 2017 Ford F-550.
Osseck’s car collided with Volkman’s car’s rear, causing it to veer off the right side of the road and collide with a barrier.
In contrast, Osseck’s truck veered off the left side of the road and collided with the median barriers.
Osseck was unharmed, but Volkman and his passenger, 18-year-old Alizaya Doyle, were injured moderately.
Volkman was flown to Mercy St. Louis by helicopter, while Doyle was taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan.
The accident happened around 2:50 p.m. on Monday.
