Croghan, NY – Paul L Mast Injured in Collision with Intoxicated Driver on Belfort Rd

Croghan, NY (May 27, 2020) – A man identified as Brian Keeffer, 26, was arrested for Aggravated DWI and hit-and-run, among other charges, after causing a crash that left one other person injured in the town of Croghan. The incident occurred on Monday evening, May 25th, along Belfort Road.

Police officials said that Keeffer was driving a GMC pickup truck when he failed to keep right and crossed the centerline, striking a UTV. Keeffer then continued along Belfort Road and didn’t stop until his vehicle became disabled a short time later.

The driver of the UTV, identified as Paul L. Mast was transported to Lewis County General Hospital in Lowville with various injuries. His current condition has not been reported.

Keeffer was arrested with a blood alcohol content of 0.34%, more than four times the legal limit of 0.08%. No further details concerning the crash have been released.
