Darlington County, SC (October 18, 2024) – A tragic three-vehicle collision occurred Thursday afternoon on Oates Highway, resulting in the deaths of four individuals. The accident took place around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 340 and Oates Highway.
According to Coroner Todd Hardee, the victims have been identified as Keshawn Jamel Dobose, 22; Roland Marcell Bruce, 30; Dominque Markel Robinson, 27; and Shaheem Malik Joe, 26. All four men were traveling in a 2013 BMW 750 that was heading north on Oates Highway when the crash occurred.
In addition to the fatalities, one other person was injured in the incident. The driver of a 2007 Ford Edge SUV, which was traveling south on Oates Highway at the time of the crash, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the driver of a 2007 Honda Accord, also traveling north, was not injured.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol's Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not released any information regarding the cause of the collision.
