De Queen, AR (September 19, 2023) – A grave incident transpired on Monday, September 18, 2023, around 4:15 p.m. on Highway 71 East near the Cossatot River Bridge.
Ricky Hill, 60, of Hot Springs, lost control of his 2009 Pontiac G5. He swerved into the opposing lane, hitting a 2003 GMC Sierra driven by Edgar Overturf, 19, from De Queen.
The crash threw Hill from his car, leading to his death.
The collision made the Sierra swipe a 2009 Chevrolet and crash into a 2020 Freightliner truck.
Overturf, Logan Garland, 19, and an unnamed minor sustained injuries.
All were transported to local hospitals.
The investigation is still ongoing.
