Deming, NM (October 31, 2022) – Authorities with the New Mexico State Police say that two people have lost their lives in a head-on crash that occurred on Friday afternoon, October 28th. The deadly accident happened in the vicinity of Deming at around 3:00 p.m.

According to the NMSP, the 15-year-old driver of a Toyota crossed the center lane of the roadway and collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge. Emergency responders were called to the crash site to assist those involved.

Reports show that two occupants of the Toyota, identified as 38-year-old Martyn Pearson, and 40-year-old Alexandra Olsen, were pronounced deceased at the scene. Both the 15-year-old operator of the Toyota and the driver of the Dodge were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities do not suspect alcohol or speed to have been factors in the crash. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
