Deming, NM (July 14, 2020) – New Mexico State Police responded to a severe rollover crash that claimed the lives of two children and left three others injured on Sunday, July 12th. The crash was reported on Interstate 10 in Deming.
According to authorities, a Chevrolet Suburban occupied by an adult man, woman, and six children went off the roadway in the westbound lanes of the interstate. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash where one of the child passengers, identified as a 12-year-old girl, was pronounced deceased.
A 10-year-old boy was transported to a local hospital where he also succumbed to his injuries. A 42-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old boy were all hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The events that led to this incident are presently under investigation.
