Dent, MO (October 22, 2024) – A tragic vehicle collision occurred on October 21, 2024, at approximately 5:30 PM on Highway 32, eight miles east of Salem in Dent County. This incident prompted a swift response from local emergency services to assist those involved.
Preliminary reports indicate that the crash involved three vehicles: a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo, a 2021 Nissan Versa, and a 2021 International Conventional truck. The accident unfolded when the driver of the Chevrolet Aveo, identified as 21-year-old Austin Bramson from Salem, attempted to pass the International truck. In doing so, he swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, lost control, and struck the Nissan Versa head-on, which was driven by 34-year-old Angela Petro from Boss. The impact resulted in both the Chevrolet and Nissan being deemed total losses.
Tragically, both drivers, Austin Bramson and Angela Petro, sustained fatal injuries in the collision. They were pronounced deceased at the scene by Dent County Deputy Coroner Gina White. Their bodies were transported to Wilson Mortuary in Salem. Additionally, a 41-year-old male occupant in the Nissan, Dennis Petro, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for urgent medical care.
