Denton, MD (May 24, 2025) – A crash with entrapment and fire occurred on Friday, May 23, at approximately 10:10 PM at the intersection of Hobbs Rd & Hickman Rd in Denton, Caroline County. First responders from Denton Fire Department (300), Greenwood Fire Department (78), and medics were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities discovered one vehicle that had gone off the road and into the woods, becoming fully engulfed in flames. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) reported that one patient had been pulled from the vehicle before the fire spread, while a second individual reportedly fled the scene.
The individual who was rescued from the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The cause of the crash and fire is under investigation, and authorities are actively searching for the person who fled the scene.
