Dover, NY (May 12, 2023) – Two boys were severely injured on May 12th at around 5:10 p.m. in Dover, New York, following a head-on crash involving two dirt bikes. According to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the boys were riding in opposite directions on Weil Road when they collided with each other. Both boys suffered serious injuries and were airlifted from the scene.
One boy was taken to Westchester Medical Center while the other was transferred to Hartford Children’s Hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and Crash Investigation Unit are continuing their investigation, and failure to keep right on the part of one of the operators appears to be the primary cause of the crash.
As of now, the authorities have not revealed the ages, names, or hometowns of the two boys.
Our thoughts are with the boys and their families, and we hope they have a quick and full recovery.
