Dry Branch, GA (January 27, 2023)- On Wednesday morning, January 25, at 8:10 a.m. there was a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer on the interstate in Dry Branch. Several people were injured as a result of the wreck.
The local fire department and emergency medical services were called to report to the scene immediately after the incident.
A Georgia State Patrol officer reported that the accident occurred on the eastbound side of I-16. According to the local police officials, the initial accident happened when a car hit another vehicle. Moments after, a tractor-trailer collided with both cars. The vehicles suffered further damage after the second collision. Police predict that the weather influenced the conditions driving conditions.
Several victims were transported to the hospital due to the injuries they sustained. None of the victims or their vehicles of been identified. The current medical conditions of the victims are unknown.
There were road blockages on the interstate until about 9:10 a.m. Although delays were caused, police were able to ensure the roads were clear and safe to drive again after the accident.
The local police are continuing to investigate the collision’s circumstances.
