Dundalk, MD (May 12, 2023) – Area authorities confirmed that 82-year-old Richard L Sprouse lost his life as a result of a house fire that took place on Wednesday afternoon, May 10.
At approximately 12:45 p.m., firefighters and police units were called to provide assistance on-site at a fire incident that took place on Gray Haven Road.
Reports show that a residential fire broke out at a structure located in the 8000 block of the roadway authorities rushed to the scene and began battling the blaze.
Fire crews were able to enter the structure after a short period of time, locating a victim trapped on the second floor.
The victim, identified as Sprouse, was severely injured. He was rushed to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased after a short period. At this time, the fire is being investigated. However, authorities confirmed that an electrical failure in the victim’s mobility chair was the cause of the incident.
