Dunklin, MO (October 12, 2024) – A serious traffic accident occurred on October 12, 2024, at approximately 1:10 AM on US 412, four miles east of Kennett. The incident involved two vehicles: a 2014 moped and a 2018 Peterbilt truck, resulting in significant damage and serious injuries.
Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of the Peterbilt truck, Cory C. Kyles, was traveling westbound when he struck the rear of the moped, operated by Andrew C. Peek. The impact led to the moped being declared a total loss and towed from the scene by Rudis Towing. Fortunately, the truck sustained only minor damage and was driven from the scene.
Emergency responders arrived promptly to assess the situation. Andrew Peek, 46, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was not wearing a safety device at the time of the accident. He was transported by Survival Flight to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, TN, for further medical evaluation and treatment.
