East Columbus, OH (September 19, 2023) – A wrong-way crash on Interstate 70 early Monday morning, September 18, 2023, resulted in one death and multiple injuries.
At around 2 a.m., a Ford Focus drove east in the westbound lanes I-70, clipping a westbound Kia Seltos.
The Kia flipped twice, ending near the median wall.
The Focus hit a Honda Accord head-on, stopping on the right shoulder.
Three vehicles hit the debris but had no injuries.
Medics declared the Focus’s front passenger dead at the scene.
The Focus’s other passengers and the Accord’s driver are in critical condition at Grant Medical Center.
Kia’s occupants are stable at Ohio State East Hospital.
I-70 westbound reopened after hours.
The investigation is still ongoing.
