East Patchogue, NY (July 12, 2023) – Several victims were injured as a result of a crash involving a box truck that took place in Suffolk County on Monday, July 10.
According to reports provided by the Suffolk Police Department, a 1998 GMC box truck was traveling east on Brookhaven Avenue when it collided with a 2022 Dodge Charger. The impact of the crash caused the box truck to overturn near Americus Avenue.
A man and two passengers were ejected from the vehicle.
The GMC driver was airlifted from the scene and flown to Stony Brook University Hospital for emergency care. An 8-year-old girl was airlifted from the scene and transported to the same hospital. A 40-year-old man suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to Long Island Community Hospital for emergency care.
An additional passenger in the charger, identified as a 23-year-old, was transported to the same hospital for emergency care. Two other victims, a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old, were transported to Long Island Community Hospital for emergency care.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
