Eastport, NY (September 1, 2020) – A woman identified as Judith DiLorenzo, 78, of Queens was hit and killed by a box truck during a collision that also left two others injured in the town of Eastport. The fatal crash happened at around 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon, August 31st.

According to police officials, DiLorenzo was standing in the vicinity of a farm stand along County Road 111 when she was struck by a box truck that also hit the operator of the farm stand, identified as Brian Ringhoff. Police officers and emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene a short time later and transported DiLorenzo to Peconic Bay Medical Center. She was pronounced deceased moments after her arrival.

Both Ringhoff and the driver of the box truck survived the incident with unspecified injuries. At this time, authorities are working to determine the events that led to this collision. No further details have been provided.
