Edinburg, TX ( July 26, 2023) – The accident happened on Monday, July 24th, 2023, around 9:14 p.m.
The collision involved two vehicles, a black truck and a grey minivan.
The black truck veered into the highway’s southbound lanes, leading to a collision with the minivan.
Tragically, three people lost their lives in the crash.
The victims were identified as 50-year-old Luz Aurora Casado, the minivan driver, her mother, 68-year-old Maria Guadalupe Zavala Casado, and her 2-year-old daughter.
The pickup truck driver, 46-year-old Sheng Li Jiang, suffered critical injuries in the accident.
He will be facing charges in connection with the fatal crash.
The authorities will continue investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the exact cause and sequence of events that led to this devastating accident.
