Fairfax, VA (December 8, 2022) – A 32-year-old man from Culpeper, Virginia, has died following a pedestrian accident in Fairfax County. At around 1 a.m., on December 8, the Virginia State Police responded to an auto accident on Interstate 66.
According to reports, a Honda Accord and a Ford Taurus were involved in a crash on the eastbound side of Interstate 66 during the morning hours. The driver of the Taurus fled the scene on food.
A construction worker in the area saw the crash and was headed to check on the driver of the Honda when he was run over by another vehicle. The vehicle that struck the construction worker, a maroon vehicle, fled the scene.
The worker, 32-year-old Jonathan W Franzell, was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
