Farragut, IA (September 18, 2023) – An 11-year-old boy suffered critical injuries in a fireworks mishap in a rural Farragut home on Saturday, September 16, 2023.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office got the alert around 8:09 p.m.
Initially, the boy was taken to Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.
He was later airlifted to an Omaha trauma center.
Support at the scene came from Farragut Fire and Rescue, Shenandoah Fire and Rescue, and the Iowa State Patrol.
The investigation is still ongoing.
