Fayetteville, NC – Vehicle Accident on I -295 near the Murchinson Rd Results in Fatality

Fayetteville, NC ( July 20, 2023) – A tragic vehicle accident occurred near Fort Liberty.

It resulted in the fatality of a contractor with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT).

The accident occurred on July 18th, 2023.

A vehicle struck and killed the contractor while performing litter pick-up duties along Interstate 295 near the Murchinson Road interchange.

The cause of the crash has not been released, and the identity of the deceased contractor has not been disclosed.

The contractor worked for Lovin Contracting Company, based in Robbinsville, North Carolina.

Authorities from Fort Liberty military police are handling the investigation into the crash to determine the circumstances that led to the accident.
