Cocoa, FL (July 17, 2020) – A fatal traffic accident took place on a roadway in Cocoa this past Tuesday that took the lives of two individuals.
Police and paramedics promptly responded to the scene of the crash that took place at approximately 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14 when two women were headed east on SR-524. The two women were identified as Casey Kilton, 38, and Emily Wilcox, 19.
They were traveling in a 2020 Jeep Cherokee being driven by Kilton. She came upon a parked tractor-trailer and was unable to stop in time and rear-ended the trailer. The impact caused the jeep to catch fire, trapping both women inside. Sadly, they were both pronounced deceased at the accident scene by medical professionals who responded to the accident call.
The reason the collision took place is still under investigation by local authorities. No further details have been released at this time.
