Dixie County, FL (March 26, 2020) – A man by the name of Charles Smith was fatally struck after falling off of his bike in the road on Monday night.
The troubling incident occurred around 8:45 pm on State Road 349 near Northeast 341st Avenue. According to incident reports, Smith, 61, was riding his bicycle when for an unknown reason he fell from the bike onto the pavement and ended up in the southbound lanes of SR-349. Before being able to move from amidst the roadway, Smith was struck by a southbound Chevy Silverado Pick-up.
The driver of the pick-up was identified as 29-year-old Heather Forehnand of Old Town, Florida. Charles Smith was killed as a result of the collision.
No other information has been released about the accident at this time.
