Jacksonville Beach, FL – Woman Seriously Injured in Pedestrian Accident

Jacksonville Beach, FL (April 19, 2020) – The Jacksonville Beach Police Department responded to the scene of a serious pedestrian accident that injured one woman yesterday.

The accident occurred at the intersection of 1st Street North and 10th Avenue North in Jacksonville Beach yesterday, April 18. 

A woman was struck suddenly by a passing car while she was jogging near the intersection. The woman was trapped underneath the vehicle, which was lifted off of her by police and a nearby trauma surgeon who just happened to be in the area at the time of the accident. 

The unidentified woman was taken to a nearby medical center in critical condition. 

The driver remained at the collision scene and cooperated with the police as they carried out a preliminary investigation. 

No further information is available at this time.
