Jacksonville, FL – Fatal Roll-Over Crash on I-295

Jacksonville, FL (July 20, 2020) – A fatal roll-over crash occurred on a highway in Jacksonville Saturday evening that took the life of one individual.

Florida Highway Patrol stated that the collision occurred when a Ford pickup truck was headed north on I-295 near 103rd Street. A Toyota sedan was also traveling north on the same roadway in a separate lane. At the same time, a Nissan pickup truck was also headed north in yet another lane. As the Ford pickup attempted to switch lanes, it collided with the Toyota for reasons still being investigated by FHP.

This collision caused the driver of the Ford to lose control of their vehicle, which then caused another crash between the pickup and the Nissan. It was confirmed by local authorities that both the Ford and the Nissan ended up overturned in a ditch on the side of the road.

The driver of the Ford, only identified as a 54-year-old male from Jacksonville, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. Both the driver of the Nissan and the Toyota sustained minor injuries. The Nissan driver was identified as a 38-year-old Jacksonville woman. The driver of the Toyota was identified as a 21-year-old male from Jacksonville.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts remain with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
