Fatal Car Accidents in Flushing

5.29 Flushing, NY - Li Ren Killed in Car Accident on Parsons Blvd

Speeding is an all-too-common factor in critical injury and fatal New York car accidents. Drivers who cause car accidents by driving at unsafe speeds will be held responsible for the deaths, injuries, losses, and damages they create. As published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, around 30% of all fatal car accidents in the United States involve a vehicle that was being driven at a dangerous speed.

Statewide, in 2012, speeding motorists were a prevalent factor in the deaths of 81 people, a huge leap from the 49 fatalities that occurred in 2011. This rise in vehicular fatalities forced New York legislators to intercede. Starting in 2013, the New York Department of Transportation began installing speed enforcement cameras in an effort to hinder speeding drivers.

After losing a loved one in a careless, reckless, or otherwise negligent New York car accident by no fault of the victim, it may feel like no amount of compensation could make you feel complete again. While it is true that no financial restitution can ever fully make up for your losses, filing a wrongful death claim against the responsible party or parties can go a long way toward helping you find some semblance of peace again.
