Flushing, NY (January 27, 2021) – Authorities say that one person died after a carbon monoxide incident that occurred in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens. It happened inside of a building at Levitt and 34th Road on Tuesday night, January 26th.

According to the Fire Department of New York, crews were dispatched to the scene around 8:00 p.m. to assist a victim who was suffering cardiac arrest. At the location, responders detected elevated levels of carbon monoxide but no functioning detectors inside the structure.

The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the victim has not been reported at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.
