Fort Myers, FL (July 18, 2023) – The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a 7-year-old boy was killed when a toddler operating a golf cart failed to navigate a turn, causing a tragic accident properly.
The boys’ names have not been made public at this time.
The incident occurred in the afternoon of Monday, July 17, 2023, on Orange River Boulevard, northeast of Fort Myers, in a rural residence.
The 3-year-old was driving the golf cart on private property when they approached a right curve near the house.
A 7-year-old boy standing in the front yard was tragically killed when hit by the front of a golf cart.
He was taken to a local hospital and later died from his injuries.
The 3-year-old driver walked away from the collision unscathed without a helmet or seatbelt. The highway patrol is investigating the collision.
