Franklin County, MO (March 13, 2025) – A four-vehicle collision on Missouri 100 at Route T left multiple people injured, including two children, on Wednesday evening. The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 p.m. and involved a Kia Forte, a Toyota Camry, a Kia Sorento, and a Ford F-150.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened when an 84-year-old driver from Gerald, MO, in a 2006 Ford F-150, was stopped in traffic on Route T preparing to cross Missouri 100 westbound. As he attempted to proceed, he failed to yield and entered the path of an oncoming 2012 Kia Sorento traveling northbound. The Kia Sorento struck the left side of the Ford F-150, causing both vehicles to skid. The Ford then struck a 2018 Kia Forte that had been waiting to turn onto Route T, while debris from the impact hit a 2025 Toyota Camry that was also preparing to turn.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and transported multiple injured individuals to Mercy Hospital Washington and Mercy Hospital Creve Coeur. Among the injured were:
- The 84-year-old Ford driver, who sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Creve Coeur.
- A 51-year-old Kia Sorento driver, who suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington.
- A 17-year-old Kia Forte driver, who was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington with minor injuries.
- A 39-year-old Toyota Camry driver and two child passengers, ages 8 and 10, along with a 42-year-old female passenger, all of whom sustained minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital Washington.
All vehicles involved sustained varying degrees of damage, with the Ford F-150 being totaled. Patriot Towing and Sturm’s Towing removed the disabled vehicles from the crash site.
Authorities continue to investigate the collision and urge drivers to use caution at intersections, especially when yielding to oncoming traffic.
Failure-to-Yield Accidents in Missouri
Failure-to-yield accidents are a significant cause of crashes at intersections and traffic crossings. When a driver misjudges the speed of approaching vehicles or fails to stop properly, the results can be devastating, leading to high-impact collisions involving multiple vehicles.
Intersections like Missouri 100 and Route T require extra caution due to high traffic volume and frequent turning movements. Missouri traffic laws emphasize the importance of yielding when required to prevent dangerous accidents like this one. Unfortunately, as seen in this incident, failure to yield can lead to chain-reaction crashes that put multiple drivers and passengers at risk.
Injuries from failure-to-yield accidents can result in long recovery periods, medical expenses, and insurance challenges. Understanding your rights and seeking legal support can help victims recover compensation for their losses.
