Franklin County, MO (October 26, 2024) – A vehicle accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:50 PM on North Bend Road near North Bend Loop, resulting in injuries and prompting a response from local emergency services.
Preliminary reports indicate that two vehicles were involved in the collision. A 2018 Kabota RTV, driven by 37-year-old Esther M. Strugari from Union, MO, was traveling southbound when it began to make a left turn into a private driveway. At the same time, a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by 37-year-old Amy C. Collins, also from Union, MO, was following closely behind and attempted to pass the Kabota on the left. The front right of the Chevrolet Cruze struck the left side of the Kabota RTV during the maneuver.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene to provide medical assistance. Strugari sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Washington by private conveyance. Collins suffered minor injuries and was transported to the same hospital by Union Ambulance.
Both vehicles sustained damage, with the Chevrolet Cruze classified as having moderate damage and subsequently towed by Sturms Towing, while the Kabota RTV was driven from the scene with minor damage.
Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine any contributing factors. Traffic in the area may have been impacted as crews worked to clear the roadway and ensure the safety of all motorists.
