Franklin County, TX ( July 18, 2023) – A tragic three-vehicle crash occurred in Franklin County, resulting in the death of a 9-year-old child and injuring an adult.
The incident occurred on July 17th, 2023, around 12:30 p.m., on U.S. Interstate 30, about one mile east of Mount Vernon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), a 2017 Honda Accord traveled eastbound.
It stopped as other vehicles moved aside for an emergency vehicle on the shoulder.
At that moment, a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, also traveling eastbound, collided with the stopped Honda and a 2020 GMC Terrain.
The driver of the Honda was injured and taken to a local hospital, while the 9-year-old passenger tragically lost their life.
The crash is currently being investigated by authorities to gather more information about the incident.
