Franklin County, VA (May 7, 2023) – A 15-year-old has died as a result of a bicycle accident that took place in Franklin County on Thursday, May 4.
At around 10:10 p.m., the police and firefighters were called to the scene of a crash on Route 220.
Reports show that a 15-year-old was riding a bicycle on Route 220, just one-tenth of a mile north of Route 1619, during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, they were struck by a 2005 Honda Accord, which was traveling southbound on the roadway.
The bicyclist suffered severe injuries as a result of the crash. That the victim was pronounced deceased as a result of their injuries while at the scene.
The driver of the Honda was not injured in the accident. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
